Beginnings, Part 1: Life in Appaloosa

SharonaSim has lived in Appaloosa Plains all her life but is really itching to get to the big city. Life is so boring here in this little town and the big city lights of Bridgeport are calling her. She is practically a vampire – she’s up all night & parties hard when she can. But she doesn’t want to go immortal in that way. She is saving up for the big move and has her starter celebrity mansion picked out. Here is her story.

(Author’s Note: This is the story of my Simself, as I live vicariously through her. Many things reflect my real life. I’m one of those few who likes to play herself. πŸ™‚ Β This story goes way back from when I first got Sims 3, so you’ll see my progression of learning how to make clothes, getting new expansions, new CC hairs, learning how to make good pictures, poses, take out the plumbbobs… Use of skins, eyes, hairs, sliders… and all that fun stuff develops. Through many many save files and several different monitors, computers and reinstalls, the family has stayed intact, and grown. I still have a lot to learn, but I’ve come a long way. I did play Sims 1 since the beginning, but only had Sims 3 since January 2012.)

First there was me and Josie, my chubby neurotic cat. We lived in a starter house in Appaloosa Plains.

Then Willow came along.

Who stole my heart completely.

I was forced to practice guitar, since there was no piano in base game! πŸ™ But it got me in the music field πŸ™‚

Then I found out about Late Night. Oh thank god. I practiced my piano all hours and learned every song available.

Then we adopted Coal as a kitten. Here he is in my living room – the jam space! That’s my Ford Focus 2012 outside. Oh, and the red piano is my Nord Stage 88.

By the time I had my Adult birthday I had worked my way up the Symphonic field at the town theatre, had a stint conducting the orchestra and even scored a couple of blockbuster movie scores! My lifetime wish of becoming a Hit Movie Composer was fulfilled.

The cats and I moved into a bigger house down by the beach. I was gaining tons of friends and always had the most epic parties. Autograph sessions at the theatre were quite fun and rewarding as well.

I worked hard on my mixology skills so I could create energy drinks so more folk would stay up and party with me! They had the small-town mindset after all… whereas I longed to be in the big city.

My agent was always calling with opportunities and promotional requests, at the oddest times.

I worked tirelessly and was becoming quite the celebrity in this little town. You can’t miss the pink limo!

I had to sell my prize-winning horse, Bolt, because I didn’t have time to care for him anymore. He fetched me about 15 grand, and two gold trophies and a silver trophy for racing and jumping.

After all this time in the orchestral field, I just wanted to be a rock star! Finally I got my first band opportunity at the local dive bar with my band Cookie Treats. I decided I had enough of a stash in the bank from the movie score and celebrity income, that I would quit the theatre job and register as a self-employed act. That’s Rodney Singleton on lead guitar and Kanoa Parrott on the drums. Wicked drummer, but he was a bit of an asshole. I don’t remember who the girl on bass was – she wasn’t with us long.

The popular joint The Pocket purchased a beautiful purple piano so I took that opportunity to play piano bar nights there during the weeknights. I made some great tips.

I even moonlighted some nights at the bar and made some pretty tasty drinks.

We got a drummer! But he sucks.

      1. That’s so awesome, I haven’t really tried horse ownership. I shall have to down the road, it seems like fun. πŸ˜€

  1. (the link to this doesn’t work on your Chapters section, just a heads up)
πŸ™‚ I love that you play your simself. I’ve never made one because I would never play her (it would weird me out) but following the adventures of your simself/her family has always been a blast.
o.O I’d forgotten that pianos were only added in later! I bet SharonaSim thanked you tons for getting Late Night πŸ˜‰
Aww goodbye Bolt! Love all the kittehs though!

    1. Oh right, thanks. You must have clicked the link from my Facebook. I’m pretty sure the Chapters section worked.. maybe refresh your browser cause I just fixed it tonight. The links on Facebook are outdated now so I deleted them. I had changed some of the published dates so they were in better order, therefore the links were broken. Bolt was fun to play – I always wanted a horse. But he was a bit needy and I needed to get on with the singing career! I wasn’t long getting Late Night once I saw that’s where the pianos were. πŸ™‚

    1. Hey thanks for visiting! Yeah I didn’t have a good video card at the time either, just generic graphics so Sim settings were on lower most of the time. It’s been a fun ride so far. πŸ˜€
